How does EMS training work?

When we perform a movement, the brain sends a signal telling the muscle to contract — and it's these signals that are amplified during EMS training. The result is that you have to work harder to complete each movement, creating an intense full-body workout with dynamic and static exercises without weights.

Is EMS safe?

Yes. An impressive number of studies have confirmed that the method is completely safe. EMS training only activates skeletal muscles — the voluntary, trainable muscles in your body. Smooth muscles, the heart and other organs are not affected. Electrical muscle stimulation originally comes from rehabilitation.

What should I keep in mind before and after training?

It's important that you feel healthy since the training is high-intensity. Drink plenty of fluids before training. Don't train on an empty stomach — eat a light meal a couple of hours beforehand. After training, we recommend plenty of water and a proper meal within the next few hours.

What does EMS training feel like?

An EMS session works in four-second intervals — the impulse is on for four seconds and off for four seconds, for 20 minutes. The impulse is best described as an intense vibration and is nothing like an electric shock. Training should feel intense but not painful. Muscle soreness is common in the beginning.

Most people get significant muscle soreness after their first EMS session. Soreness is often stronger when you challenge your body with something it's not used to. Two days after the session is typically when soreness peaks.

What happens at the first visit?

At your first visit, you get an introduction to EMS training and together with a personal trainer you go through a health declaration. Then you change into clothes we provide and can be offered a body analysis. After that, you train your first 20-minute EMS session.

I want to train regularly. What are my options?

You have two options: Monthly membership (4 or 8 sessions per month, best value) and Credits (flexible option in various pack sizes — the bigger the pack, the more you save per session).

Can I share my credits or membership?

Credits are personal, but you can invite a friend for a trial session using your own credits. Memberships are always personal and cannot be shared.

What happens if I get sick or injured?

With a doctor's note, we extend the validity of your credits. Memberships can be frozen for the duration of illness, or once a year for up to one month without a specific reason.

Yes. EMS training can speed up the process. It may take a few weeks before you see a difference on the scale because EMS can first build muscle mass, which weighs more than fat. What matters is what's happening in your body, not just the number on the scale.

Converted to 20 minutes of Bionic EMS training, that's approximately 515 kcal per session. For comparison: jump rope 300 kcal, climbing 275 kcal, football 250 kcal, jogging 210 kcal. Beyond that, the afterburn effect (EPOC) can last up to 48 hours.

Healthy people who can exercise can perform EMS training. Exceptions apply for: pacemakers or other electronic implants, neurological conditions, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer or tumors, tuberculosis. During infections, colds or pregnancy, you should wait.

Yes. Back problems often arise from weak muscles or muscular imbalances. EMS can build up the muscles, including deep back muscles. Our trainers help you with functional exercises that strengthen the back.

The electrical impulses are harmless to the heart and organs. During EMS training, we work with low frequencies that stimulate the muscles and do not reach the heart or other internal organs.

Yes. You can start EMS training 6 to 8 weeks after a vaginal delivery. After a cesarean section, you should wait 3 to 6 months.
